So, the U.S. named it Operation Odyssey Dawn…
which we’ve all been talking about quite a bit. What have the other countries been calling it?
- Britain calls it Operation Ellamy. Rather inscrutably. I’m unsure of the reasons, meaning, or the mechanisms by which Britain chooses its operation code names.
- Canada calls it Operation MOBILE.
- France calls it Opération Harmattan, which is the name of a West African trade wind.
